A little while ago I was contacted by Coralie (editor of the wedding design magazine) to surprise co-owner and graphic designer, Mariaan Lombard with some beautiful wall decals for their new shop in Hatfield, Pretoria. The shop is almost done and will be opening real soon.
And here is the result:
While some people embrace change, others dread it. No matter which side of the spectrum you are on, you cannot escape or hide from change.
Change is a decision, fueled by some sort of reason. Needless to say a certain amount of self awareness, divine intervention, or something needs to happen for people to choose to change and reach something new. Not deciding to change does not mean you escape it, it only means you get left behind.
I find change to be a liberating educational experience. To be able to change means that you are free. Free from others’ expectations and free from your egos.
Bruce Barton said “Action and reaction, ebb and flow, trial and error, change – this is the rhythm of living. Out of our over-confidence, fear; out of our fear, clearer vision, fresh hope. And out of hope, progress. ”
Part of the reason I love decals is that you can change a room instantly, without mess or fuss and when you feel like a change again you can just as easily remove the decal.
So go on, take the first step choose a decal and embrace change.
