Feel like decorating?

Whether you are planning a complete revamp or looking to enhance an existing wall space you need to keep several important factors in mind before choosing your wall accessories or embarking on painting, wall papering or decal decorating project for your home, shop or office.

Choosing the right décor elements for your space can be quite a daunting task.
However, I am happy to suggest a few ways exercise your creativity and give you inspiration to decorate your space to reflect your individuality.

Step 1 – Choose a room

In order to make the right choice you need to understand the space you want to decorate.  The perfect design for your kitchen may not work for your bedroom.
To decorate your kitchen wall will be very different than designing a theme for your living room wall for example, and the wall design scheme you choose should reflect the differences of the rooms.

Step 2 – Consider your wall space

The walls in your home represent your largest interior space and you should view them as oversized blank canvasses with unlimited decoration potential.  You can easily turn a stark, cold living room into a warm and inviting space with some interesting and appropriate vinyl decals, paint or perhaps even wallpaper.  Complete the transformation with some stylishly framed artwork.

Before you start take a good look at the space you have available to decorate.  Large and small wall spaces have different decorating options, depending ceiling height, structure, texture and size of the walls.

Step 3 – Colour Scheme

Colour is everything when it comes to setting the tone. The base colour you select will set the stage for the rest of your wall design.
Things to consider when choosing the colour;

  • The room’s function
  • The mood you want to create in the space
  • Should it be formal or informal, warm and cosy, or cool and relaxed.

Your wall decorating idea should also compliment the existing furnishings and other interior elements.

Step 4 – What is your style?

Your wall design should be defined not so much by style but how it makes you feel.  When looking for ideas, perhaps you could allow the architectural character of the space speak for itself.

You could also choose a style that allows you to adapt over time, balancing comfort with beauty, formal with casual and modern with antique to suit your lifestyle and your own individual taste.

Step 5 – Choosing a decoration type.

Okay, so you have chosen a colour painted the walls your walls, now what?
There are endless choices from beautiful wall mirrors to gorgeous textiles, framed art, to fun and stylish wall decals, as well as interesting shelves

Below are a few options I thought you might like
